    If you are asking about the 1984 Olympics $10 gold coins, the answer is no. Believe it or not, the low montage Denver and Philadelphia coins were once very high priced because of their mintages. Then the series became “out of sight, out of mind” as so many modern coins do, and the prices settled back down to near the melt value.

    To answer the other question, I have the eight $5 gold pieces that make up the “The all mints set” plus a lot more. Traditionalists will shun the commemorative $5 gold coins from West Point, but if you want to cover all the bases, it’s part of the set.

    My weakest area is the Carson City Mint. I don’t have a lot of coins from there.

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    My favorite mints in order: Carson City, Dahlonega, New Orleans, San Francisco, Philly, Denver, Charlotte, West Point, (Manilla - the forgotten branch mint)

    Ditto. Capital Plastics made a seven coin holder for the all mint set of Liberty half eagles at one time which was neat but all my coins are slabbed.

    I do not have to have one from each mint... However, if a special coin comes out of the West Point Mint, I usually add it to my W collection. That started way back the special dime issue of 1996. Cheers, RickO

    I have looked at picking up a nice Charlotte or Dahlonega piece but they are generally more than my budget can handle. Besides, I have the new D and I have a CC which has twice as many Cs. So I have the alphabet covered.

    I agree. The mintmark is such a tiny element of the design that I find no need to specify the MM.
    I also have a few CC's as they aren't much more than the Philly.
    I suppose I understand the demand for ALL the MMs for those whose goal in coins is completeness.

    Business Strike and then the Satin Finish from the mint sets. So not really a different mint, just a different finish.

    I saw a listing with the PD&S proofs in an NGC 3 coin holder.

    I think it would be neat to see all 4 varieties in a multi holder, and that would be something I would add to my collection.

    It's all about what the people want...
