Fake. That date is all wrong among other issues. Was this someone's idea of a joke?

My guess is they used a "stock" photo.

Whoever oversaw the "artwork" for the cover really messed up.

I agree. A graphic artist who is not a coin collector designed the cover using stock pictures found on the internet.

Truth in advertising? Bound to be some fakes on sale, whether intentional or not...

Thanks, @burfle23 - this should serve as a reminder for collectors to be on the lookout for fakes, wherever they happen to be shopping for coins.

I overheard a person getting opinions from Steve Feltner at the show for some of his raw gold. There were a couple counterfeits in the group.

And where was the editorial and printing? A subliminal message from China perhaps?

What an embarrassment. Iowa, of course, is in the CSNS and 1846 was year of Iowa's, the "Hawkeye" state, admission to the Union.

@burfle23 good day my friend. I can't get this ANACS # 7000094036 below the barcode to verify. And the barcode does not work. Can you enlighten me based on these pics. Thanks for what you do here. Peace Roy
