Fake. That date is all wrong among other issues. Was this someone's idea of a joke?

Whoever oversaw the "artwork" for the cover really messed up.
I agree. A graphic artist who is not a coin collector designed the cover using stock pictures found on the internet.

That would mean the artist and all the CSNS professionals that approved the cover before it went to the printers. Somebody who should have know didn’t. Maybe what calculators and iPads have done to students, slabs have done to coin collectors.

Truth in advertising? Bound to be some fakes on sale, whether intentional or not...
Thanks, @burfle23 - this should serve as a reminder for collectors to be on the lookout for fakes, wherever they happen to be shopping for coins.
Failure of the editorial process.
I overheard a person getting opinions from Steve Feltner at the show for some of his raw gold. There were a couple counterfeits in the group.

I’m not sure about the German either.
All I can say is unbelievable.
Would definitely be interesting to hear the "back story" on that one!
Embarassing.
And where was the editorial and printing? A subliminal message from China perhaps?

Maybe the back story, or the inspiration for the cover image...
Someone ought to step up and "OWN" this.
