And then deleted the listing.

But what you would have had a chance to buy, if I hadn't gotten the FOMO shakes™:

Jaw-dropping toned 1993 Madison $5 Gold

1993 Madison / Bill of Rights $5 Gold
Uncirculated
Pristine PCGS MS70 OGH Gen 3.1 (1993-1998)
Mintage 23,266
Exceptional dark honey amber tone obverse and reverse

One of the most attractively toned gold coins I've owned, and certainly one of the best toners from the modern commem series.

Well, if you are starting an auction, I'll top @Meltdown because I'll also pay melt plus kick in $5 toward shipping. o:)

Seriously, that is a quite pretty coin. Toning on these gold commems must be very scarce.

I like the old silver in the background better.

You’ were right, you made the right decision, whatever you could’ve gotten out of it near spot (folks here are clued in on commemoratives) on the BST, better to keep. Sweet toning.

I'll raise Mark and even cover the CC 3%. o:)

And I don't even like gold.

Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

I don't collect modern gold, but your coin is a beaut, that I wouldn't mind owning. Time to get it CAC'd ;)

    @ WEISS

Your silver coin near the beauty has something stamp on side?? Sorry I ask, and also if you sell that one?

    Thanks

Thank you. There is a chop mark on the shield of the trade dollar on the left. But no, none of these are for sale.

Yes to the junk silver! Not quite so esoteric, though……

I’ve owned several modern gold in ogh with great toning. There are several out there with nice purple rim toning. Not sure what it is about those holders that does it, but I like it. Great coin!

I’ve thought of that sometimes, (late at night of course) PCGS say if a coin has “Amazing” eye appeal, it can be bumped up a grade. But what if this coin is MS70/69? ;)
