Mercury Dime Die Overpolishing?

Question on this one. It's in a straight grade holder. Looks like die polish lines possibly and what is going on in the circles i made? Looks split?

Thoughts.

    Your circled areas can just be microscope reflection. If you see this again take a look at it with a loupe - most likely you won't see it. The rest MD and yes - looks to be heavy die polishing lines as it does not go over the details.

    Makes sense, curved area reflecting light.

    Kind of interesting seeing these type things come up. I went looking at 1942 in coinfacts images to see if there was another. There are several but with different polish lines and not as heavy. This one is the first image in coinfacts other images and has some in the same location but also at 5 o/c. I would guess this is from polishing out clash marks from the reverse leaves. Didn't look at other dates but suspect there are more.

    I am wondering if someone (here) was born in the good year of 1942? :)

    Nice die polish lines. If it were a Morgan or Peace dollar it would have its own variety number and a hefty price tag in that condition. 😁
    It is pretty cool to think a single worker left such a lasting impression- literally!
