    Is this the “snaggle tooth “ variety. I’m kinda not seeing CAC or 67. Must be the picture. Looks kinda rough.

    @GRANDAM.... I like Ike.... I have quite a few... Raw and in the mint issue containers.... Not sure if I have any slabbed... probably one or two. Last of the big dollar coins. Cheers, RickO

    Am glad you are a fan of the type, but for me, it is one of the ugliest obverse design ever made. Absolutely no charm. I would consider owning one with fantastic color (like @david3142 awesome collection) if the right one came along. Yet even then, I might hesitate.

    I actually agree that the obverse design isn't the greatest, but what I DO love about them is that they are plentiful, big, and I do like the reverse designs. The proofs can be really attractive since most are DCAM.

    Eisenhower Dollars are a hard coin for some collectors to grade. The OP coin looks just fine to me.

    Thanks for the shout-out. I really like the series. It’s affordable to anyone but toned or high grade coins are a serious challenge. The obverse is certainly boring but the coins are huge and with some color they can look amazing. I think the reverse is actually a very nice design. I am planning to post my now-completed Ike registry set. In the meantime, here’s my duplicate 1973:

    Sorry, I could not resist, given the title.

    This one is interesting. There was some doubt that Eisenhower would run in 1956. He had had a serious heart attack and after he had recovered from that, he had an attack of ileitis. Given his great popularity, it's hard to believe that some of his supporters would have calling for "draft Ike" for re-election.

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    I've looked it over several times and it has no mfg markings of any kind. I got it on eBay a long while back just advertised as vintage combination strong box. It's sturdy as all get out. Here's a couple more pics.

    Like and respect the man, the coins not so much. I do have all the types, but only because I'm obsessed with completeness.
