    Die cracks add character and make coins more appealing, they don’t lower the grade/value.

    Ah, I’ve got a 1812 also!
    The only one in the series for me as well. Sure didn’t effect grade on it. It’s a AU-58 and is an O-103!
    It has a nice die crack on the reverse, looks pretty cool.

    I like it, cracks are a fact of die failure.

    With all of those cracks and clashes she's a hot mess!! :D

    Cracks and clashes (and Die Chips) give them character, but as everyone has said, they do not affect the grade.

    That's a fine looking O-108a, as @Pnies20 pointed out. Currently listed as THE CC#1 in the latest AMBPR. Last known public auction appearance 14 years ago. Images make it seem all there technically for a 63.

    While I have a hard time loving blast white CBH's, that is an important coin for Die Marriage and Die State collectors alike. Thanks for sharing her!

    I am sure the graders know full well the difference between die cracks and PMD. Im sure they see it all day. Same goes for Morgans and hairlines. What looks hairlines can actually the result of polishing the die.
    The point is they can easily tell the difference. It wont affect the grade.
    A little off topic but I have seen high graded Morgans with die polish marks when I first started collecting and would scratch my head and say "how the heck did they miss this, this coin is a mess". I actually like die polish lines just like these die cracks. They add eye appeal to an original coin IMHO. Im sure many people would prefer coins without die cracks or polish lines. In this case thats a beautiful coin.
    As far as the coin being dipped it probably was but it is widely accepted. I watch so many youtube videos done by respectable dealers who openly talk about dipping. The key is that when done properly it can make a coin beautiful just like this coin. When done improperly the coin is ruined forever.

    TY all for your input. I will admit that I learned a few things.

    This thread can't go on very long as I only have 6 non gold coins which I was experimenting with 15 years ago.

    All representing some crazy idea of what I might want to collect?

    Leave it for the Grandkids or sell them? So far inertia is winning. Advice?

    Might as well add slab...
