Gimme a couple of $20 or so scratch off tickets, feel like I would have better luck, since Series One was a FIASCO, some people will be real hesitant to participate......
TC71
Anyone want to hazard a guess as to the number of comments this thread gets? I haven't done any analysis on the $739 sale price vs expected value of what is in the box but just based upon the secondary market for series 1 I think this will still be a pretty popular product and sell out fairly quickly even at double the series 1 volume. Not a product for me but I'm not going to judge anyone that purchases one.
Why? Why? Why...did you start this thread on April Fools???
I knew it was coming! I did not play VB1 but it sure is interesting. Would have liked to have seen more results, too bad all the other threads were closed. And this time you could buy THREE mystery boxes!!!
Maybe it’s in one of the other zillion posts on the topic, but I wonder if the OP has some sort of financial interest in this thing since he seems to always be pushing it.
Good luck to those who participate. No doubt there will be a couple of winners.. Even the lotteries have winners from time to time. Cheers, RickO
I'm in for 3....feeling lucky......APRIL FOOLS.......
I'm in for TEN, BUT - with donated money that was designated. This is the type of stuff that pisses me off individually but more power to those that go for it. Also, although I respect the OP think this more worthy of a post in the BST.
Well, just Love coins, period.
Who buys this crap!
We can. But when someone is constantly posting about this BS and then acting offended by the responses, it's a little obvious of his intention, right?
Right.
Dead Cat Waltz Exonumia
"Coin collecting for outcasts..."
Appears to belong on the BST. Looks like a full blown ad.
Now that they have medals, how many are going to get a silver presidential series one, valued at just above melt (but $75 from the mint)
Do you feel the same when someone posts about coins available from the Mint, about auction offerings or new numismatic books that are/will be for sale?

Are you planning on getting any?
Is VB from Minshull Trading?
Let’s see. Slander? And in the next breath you’re a “ commenting “on other members. Wow. Kinda of a double standard, eh Joe? You of all people, talking about others talking about this or that. Don’t know buddy. Seems you are on a slippery slope. Thanks

I believe that if applicable, the proper term would be “libel” not “slander”. And the comments by @jmlanzaf have been very different in nature from the ones he was referring to.
Examples of the latter are:
“Maybe it’s in one of the other zillion posts on the topic, but I wonder if the OP has some sort of financial interest in this thing since he seems to always be pushing it.”
and
“… But when someone is constantly posting about this BS and then acting offended by the responses, it's a little obvious of his intention, right?”

Thank you Mark. Nice of you to stand up for our buddy but I’m thinking in this case you’re hitching your self on the wrong wagon. And I really don’t think he needs your help but that’s ok. Thanks

Actually yes, but I think it is also distinguishable when we are discussing the coining of a new coin and official release versus an after market sale. I’d group this along with posts announcing sale of regular auctions too (not historic ones) and market reports that are more about self promotion than the state of the market (there are some that are genuinely insightful as to the market, discussion of coins, old friends, etc., however that do belong on the U.S. Coin Forum).
I also think the discussion of a new treatise is also distinguishable from the sale of coins in the aftermarket. The book threads are meant to contribute to numismatic scholarship and to alert members who do not peruse the BST of educational materials which is the purpose of the forum. Vaultbox does not contribute to the hobby more than any other private coin sale. I can’t think of anything to learn from Vaultbox except perhaps about the intersection of psychology and Machiavellianism.
No? Check your comment about @NJ What’s that, seems your predicting NJ’s response. And not exactly neutral.

None of which approach anything remotely resembling libel or slander. When someone is extremely focused and enthusiastic about a product, posts about it incessantly, and seemingly encourages it, it is natural to ask whether there is some financial interest involved.
For comparison, if there were some new coin album or storage product, and I posted threads about every new product (sometimes more than one thread), would you not question whether there was an affiliation? I also don’t see how that would arise to libel or slander (if publication is in oral form). I have not seen anyone make comments injuring Freddie’s reputation or accusing him of legal/moral impropriety.

Just gotta win, eh. Usually an impasse is a situation when we are amicable. But your right. Your always right. What was I thinking Ofcourse very amicable of you to label “false” that which you disagree with. Oh well. You win your right and now I’m a “ false time traveler “. Thanks for the clarity.

If you're not interested, don't bother to comment and just find another topic you are interested in. The topic seems to have shifted to a courtroom drama. At this rate, the mods will close this one too.
I don’t disagree. But the commercial nature AND lack of something more is IMHO dispositive.
That’s not what this thread purports to accomplish. It is a sales post (albeit for a potential third party). A thread on coin psychology or perhaps even the market implications of Vaultbox could theoretically fall within the scope of this part of the forum.
Wow...all I did was post "For those interested here is the current information on VaultBox 2 release on April 19th😎" and the information for the 2nd release along with the link.
No different than what others post for new releases of coins. No sales pitch. No positive or negative comments. Just facts.
I took a two week break from this forum and went fishing. Haven't missed you members at all.
Also, I informed the Moderator that I will no longer flag any posts so have at it people. I couldn't care less!😂🤣
At least you’re not posting “hey look at this coin” threads while also trying to sell said coin. Lots of those around here.
Hmmm. One of the guys who got most of the blame for sending the other VB threads off the rails has not even posted to this thread and it has still gotten contentious. 🤔
For what it's worth, I found the marketing hype somewhat interesting to read.
Update....It appears the limit of 3 per customer has been reduced to 2 per customer.
Congratulations on 2000 posts. Nice to see you achieve this milestone. 👍🏼

Thank you. It used to be fun posting on here but not so much anymore. Highly doubt I will ever hit 3,000....🤣😂
That would be ashame. I personally don’t care much what folks think about my posts. I hope you can find the same grace. If we all agreed what a boring place this would be.
There’s folks here who I disagree with on one thread and “like” on the next. I was told to try and appreciate the opinions of others and not let it bug me. That can be easier said than done 😂

They missed April 1st.

do they say what percentage have lower value 'buyback offer' than purchase price? 80%, 90%, 95%, 99%?
it seems they could be running unlicensed lottery (buy I am not a lawyer or prosecutor)
they are interesting - with the 10 point scale to tenths, making them 100 point scale? or are they only tenths from 9.0 to 10.0?
Appears to be from 10 on down. Trying to help folks correlate with the 70 point scale. Thanks 🙏
