    The "Detail Grade" should be at least AU.

    I believe the the “VF” portion of the grade constitutes a mechanical error. The value of the coin is irrelevant with respect to the question that was posed.

    I think the OP is wondering if he should alert Ian to get the slab corrected by PCGS before the auction ends? Probably would be a good idea, as GC does a good job in representing accuracy in their auctions.

    It’s clearly better than “VF”, which is why I previously posted that I believe it qualifies as a mechanical error. The coin looks as if it should have been graded “UNC Detail”, not “VF detail”.

    That coin appears better than VF.... and, I agree with @PerryHall, a labeling error really is human error.... At least until the input/results are done with AI....if ever. Cheers, RickO
