Is this PCGS Morgan a 2.1 "scarce" slab?

Does it look like it other than the faded insert?

i personally wouldn't call them scarce but i wouldn't call them common. they are probably a little more scarce to market given the state of collecting early slabs but i used to see them regularly. the advent of cac, especially gold probably helped save hundreds of them at least as having them with the gold sticker over cracking for an upgrade seemed to be the better play for most coins. had things not played out during c19, i'm not sure that would be the case now but, it is.

nice newp if it is yours. i always did like that version. it has the outer ring, right?

"it has the outer ring, right?"

I hope so. It looks a little beat up with residue I am hoping cleans up.
I like the coin too for the grade.

I had some hard tape residue and it was tough. Didn't get it all off but got better. Here is the previous thread and I summed up what I tested on a cracked out slab near the bottom. Hopefully that tape residue is not as hard or tough.

I also think the coin looks good for a 62 and for a 90 O it appears to have one of the better strikes (eagle especially).

I have always had good luck with GooGone and fingernail in removing old stickers.

I have no idea on scarcity of slab. Do you feel you can take the outside of slab off and have a rattler?

    Yes, and me likes.
    Nice 90-O

LanceNewman is correct, they aren’t scarce but not all that common anymore. Yours still has the outer ring attached - you can see PCGS on the bottom right side of the outer ring. There are 2 versions of this generation. The one you have pictured and the other is the same except PCGS is omitted from the label. Here’s my version of that slab.

There are products to remove adhesive. I use a Q-tip with just a drop on it. Usually that’s enough to get a small patch of adhesive off.
