I can't believe my luck - I've made the biggest cherry of my 10 year collecting history. I'm super happy!
I always browse 1913 nickels for a certain variety - the FS-1802. I have had great luck with them, but unfortunately all of the ones I've managed to find have been details coins. Not anymore!
I found this 1913 T1 PCGS MS64 nickel, and naturally I checked it and saw what appeared to be the variety. I snatched it up for $120, knowing it was worth the shot. It arrived today, and I can confirm the coin is the FS-1802! The best thing about this is that I have a guaranteed grade, and therefore can price the coin rather accurately. The last FS-1802 to sell was a MS64 on eBay for $1080. Curiously, a 64 is on GC currently for auction so that's an auction I'm watching closely as this variety rarely comes up for sale.
Pictures, please excuse the phone pictures, I'll have to get out my camera sometime this weekend. 
Next step for this coin is going off to our hosts for a reholder and variety attribution.
UPDATE - The coin's cert page now shows this coin as a T1 DDR FS-1802!

Since I fund my collection on cherrypicks this is huge! I should be able to pick up one or two of the quarters I need for my 1936-42 set with the proceeds.

Just one more example reminding me that it’s VERY likely that I’ve given away thousands of dollars over the years as I sell my dupes without taking the time to do the research to see if any are valuable varieties. I guess I’m known as the CBF (Cherrypickers Best Friend)!

This is going to read really weird, but I wonder if the liquidity is actually harmed by the fact the coin is in an OGH? I haven't checked, but assume this is a variety needed in a registry set and, if so, the OGH would seem to preclude adding this coin. Obviously, you could have it re-holdered with the variety, but I was just thinking.

Absolutely. I will be sending it for a reholder.
The OGH is only nice in this situation for two reasons. The first is that more than a few varieties were discovered after the OGH stopped, so all of the coins in OGH holders have a chance of being one of those varieties. The second is that you have a guaranteed grade and therefore a very easy way to value the coin without having to worry about what it will come back from the graders as.
Unfortunately, the OGH will be lost in this situation.

Having the Variety spelled out on the label as VERIFIED by PCGS will not only make it easier to sell, but if the variety is not listed on the label at the time of sale, some potential buyers may not bid. A listed variety can then be easier to find by buyers via search filters. Even having just ONE extra serious buyer can make a difference in the proceeds of a sale down the road! Smart move!

If you're a picker, it's about the pick. Age of plastic, TPG company, Stickers, - phewy all that, - it's the pick. The premium for the variety will most likely be significantly worth more than than a holders age or anybody's sticker. If PCGS issues the same serial number, it can be restickered because CAC does not care about a variety designation, only that the coin and serial number match. I have done it to 3 coins so far.

I had the same trouble. The PCGS coins on their website all show clear doubling of the last S in Pluribus. I don't see that on your coin. However, I do see the other doubling and I do agree that it is the DDR.

Pricing update:
A MS64 PCGS coin of this variety went for $975 ($1,097 with the fee) tonight on GC. Seems that the pricing in my OP is consistent with this result.

I’m glad for you some people will pay that much for a nearly impossible to see obscure so called variety.
I guess that’s why, like you, I’m among the group of collectors not interested in acquiring varieties! But with that said, as I noted above, if we don’t learn to recognize them, it costs us money! I’m convinced I’ve probably lost in the four figures (hopefully the low four figures, lol) over the years in the dupes I’ve sold.

i know it isn't the same as pcgs but if you get cool stuff in older holders but it would benefit from an updated variety, you can consider VSS as they just put a sticker with the relevant info on it. highly recommended.

I figured I'd also update on the plan for this coin while I can. I plan to send it to GC and @ianrussell once I have it back, along with two other cherrypicks.
I had a brief email conversation with Ian today, he was helping me with consignment forms for a particular coin that I needed attributed and restickered with CAC before sale. It was a very pleasant interaction and I was particularly impressed with the customer service.

Not a lot of activity on these in the last several years except for the 63 that sold in August. IMO, yours is significantly better looking. Best of luck on a very, very nice cherrypick, I think $1000 is pretty obtainable and may well go higher!

Actually, a 64 sold at GC for $975 ($1,097 with the fee) on October 2, 2022. I think my 64 looks a little nicer than the one that sold in October, but they do say ownership adds a point

As a buffalo nut I congratulate you! Always great to get something like this! I will share with you another 1913 type
one buffalo nickel story very similar to yours here. I was browsing 1913 type one nickels on ebay and came across a toned
unc 1913 type one that the lister said had "weak front legs" His pix were not good enough to determine whether
or not it was anything special. But I took a flyer on it and purchased for $120. It did have a make an offer but I
instantly thought that if it is something special then maybe someone is looking at it at the same time as I am, so I just
pulled the trigger and waited. When it came and I opened the package I was staring at a niceley toned unc 1913 type one
three and one half legged buffalo nickel! I got it slabbed by pcgs and then put it on flea-bay. It eventually sold for
$3170. The grade pcgs gave it was "uncirculated details spot removed" Could hardly tell that the little ole spot was
there but I really could not complain. And I am sure that the buyer was happy with it. The moral of the story as with
the OPS story here is "always keep your eyes open"!
