    Aren't you located in CA? I'm surprise you didn't use PCGS which is a lot closer.

    You sent them to Cuba? Heh? Ian is set to hit if it stays together....So far it's pretty disorganized.
    May or may not affect Florida. But, be prepared if you are on the eastern Gulf coast.

    I live in Sarasota. Getting ready to leave to watch the pac vs bucs NFL game in Tampa.
    No panic here. Not like a large fire or earthquake. Grocery stores not overrun and still have lots of water, etc. And spam. :)
    NGC very safe.

    Having been through a hurricane at sea, on a small ship (DER), I can assure you, it is to be avoided if at all possible. Nearly sunk in that one. 90 foot seas and 120 knot winds. One split in hull, had to limp in to dry dock in Scotland - pumps running full all the way, and slowly losing as we took on water. The only time I saw Chiefs running around with life jackets on.     All told Florida residents should move yourself, loved ones, pets and your coins to higher ground if you are in the storm surge area. I hope nobody’s going to take chances.

    I've been through a few hurricanes and lucky to be okay but I have seen epic destruction several times where I lived. This one will hit Florida at at least Cat 2. This will be bad for those in the path. Sarasota looks to be on the bad, eastern side from the current forecasts, be safe NGC..................

    It looks bad for Tampa. I am located well back from the coast, but they are talking about 20 inches of rain. I don't know where the water will go.

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    Bill we had 45-55 inches in 5 days with Harvey a few years back, with the peak day having around 20 inches (it was crazy). Most of the flooding took place along the drainage channels. I assume areas there have the same drainage systems we had in Houston t channel away the water, so everyone should stay away from drainage channels and off the roads, and away from storm surge areas. It looks like the winds are going to be a bigger issue probably.............

    I had planned on doing an order from a Bonsai nursey in Fort Myers this week. I am gunna hold off.

    That nursery may take a direct hit. They have a massive amount of outdoor plants. Wow, 2 business that I deal with are affected in the shrinking cone.

    2 things...

    When I mailed the submission, this was not even on the radar.

    That was an option, but I wanted to front run the show and now I do not have to drive 2 hrs up and 2 hrs back.

    I saw your post and had one in transit, NGC closing the rest of the week, thankfully, Mine got there yesterday, not checked in, but at facility, so should be fine. I was hoping it wasnt stuck in some postal facility that could get flooded. When Mathew came thru here, the main postal distribution center downtown, had 12 foot of water where all the mail was kept in process. Took them months to get it cleaned out and processed

    2 miles shy of Cat 5 when it hits. Quote from CNN:

    NGC is 9 miles inland but not impossible it could have some standing water, this is a big one. Storm surge is not something to ignore - I saw the 15 foot storm surge effects along the edge of Galveston Bay from Ike, it was stunning the damage.........

    The sad part is; with all the technology and notification, there are people alive today that will be dead in a couple of days due to this storm. I hope the people with electric cars have a plan B!

    NGC is the biggest customer for usps in the county apparently, no doubt they have the best precautions; ICG also is well prepared, I hope those with substantial collections took precautions.

    No, in the scuba diving world floating is bad. Anything that floats, is gone with the current. If it sinks, you can go down and get it. Coins sink! 😂 🤣

    after having watched some video of the surge around ft.meyers past couple days, i gotta say, looks worse than a tsunami and there wasn't much in life, if anything, i'd thought i'd compare to those!

    the wind is bad obviously, the rain is bad obviously but the flooding from the surges is the last nail in the coffin and as i understand it they kinda come after all the other chaos and catches people off guard and as deep as it looked, for that short period of a time, you could just about sit around and watch it rise foot by foot...
