I like it, some old gunk in the devices but nothing major, looks very original. :)

    Looks nice. I'd call it a V-1a VF-35.
There are only 2 known die marriages for 1839 and neither one is rare.
The V-1a is a late die state.
On the reverse, it has a crack above the left side of M1, and a bump on the stem and leaf left of I2.
I can see both these on the photo.

Nice coin, I like it. I think PCGS would give it a VF25 for VF30.

That is a very nice old Half Dime.... Well circulated, but no significant damage.... Would not be surprise at a 30 on that one. Cheers, RickO

Thanks Everyone... Seated "Anything" is not my area of expertise and I mainly rely on ANA Grading Standards to assess a numerical grade. To wit... I'm seeing full LIBERTY and scroll lines, although there is a little weakness in "E"... would this prevent a VF30 Grade? I don't see enough detail in Liberty's dress lines and there's a little weakness in the ribbon detail as well for an XF grade... I was thinking 30 on this as well. Thoughts?

VF-30 and exactly what you want to find for the grade.

If @TomB likes it that says a lot. In fact most of the responders are collectors who not only know their stuff but know grading and originality. Charming classic Cir type coin in a perfect VF grade
