Happy Day! Flying Eagle pickup from forum member

I received this beauty in the mail. 1858 Flying Eagle cent, gold CAC, as it is certainly under graded. It is very hard to find an attractive example and i'm happy that Coinlieutenant let this one go.

    I always find these hard to grade, but based on the overall even luster, I'd be surprised if it didn't re-grade at a 65 given the way these cents tend to look.

    That is one of the nicest Flying Eagle cents I have seen.... Must have been protected from day of issue. Cheers, RickO

    Very nice. I think you should resubmit for its rightful grade and Trueview.

    (I'll probably be in the minority with the OGH/Gold CAC crowd)

    I've thought about it. Right now I'm leaning more towards no just because it's so well preserved in the holder there's always the chance of damage during the re holding. I actually have a registry set on PCGS I'm working on and this in a 63 isn't maximizing my score, not that I will rank anywhere near the big boys regardless.

    There are excellent photographers on this board if you prefer but you could always send it in for a re-holder and Trueview but no regrade so you can keep the same cert # and gold bean.
