braddick lowball thread

lets offer up some eye candy for him!
i did a couple searches for his name and lowball but didn't come across anything that really fit posting this in the past year and with no date filter there were 69 threads, so ya, lets just do a new clean one.

This isn't a serious lowball, but a proof lowball. It's currently on eBay along with a PR-50 from 1942.

Thanks for the thread!
Here are three of my favorites, for different reasons:

almost beat up enough to be a lowball...

.
you're welcome!
hope we get some more goodies.
nice selection btw.
what in the world. i just checked the cert page for my ex peace dollar and the price guide shows $85 for it in a grade of 2. i don't know why but i never considered they'd update the lower grades for stuff like this. neat-o
Yes. For coins that have lowball registry sets the price will bottom out around the AG3 (maybe G4 sometimes) and then rise for the FR2 and PO1. Some PO1 on the common coins have a price guide equal to MS63 or more. This won't be true on scarcer dates but still has an increased value for PO1 over AG3 for instance.

ya gotta love seeing something that has served it purpose!
kinda reminds me of those auto-mech youtube channels showing cars that just rolled into the shop with oil that has like 20-30k miles along with the filter, rusted ball joins, frames, "custom" wiring jobs, tired with no tread left, etc. sure most of it wasn't used as intended but a lot of it is and used down TO THE NUB!
No kidding - how exactly does a ASE get "Circulated" ? Pocket piece?

nice pull!
lowest i've seen by far. i've seen some rough ones but to see them quite so circulated is kinda odd.
I got it from Bill Fivaz's collection. It is a bit unusual to be so circulated, so much so I couldn't resist picking it up! There's only 1 in PO01 with 1 in AG3 and 2 in G6.
My first purchase of an 1796 quarter. I couldn't find a holed one.

That's probably the only way it could get "natural" wear, unless maybe when Ikes still circulated some of the older ASEs were confused with Ikes and spent. I doubt that happened very often, though. Some brave (or rich) coin collectors use gold eagles as pocket pieces. Those are cool. PCGS Population report says that there are 8 AGEs in G-06!

Found on Coin Talk:

I wonder if any platinum/palladium eagles have been used as pocket pieces.
My current pocket pieces are an Ike dollar, a peace dollar, and a buffalo nickel.

only on earth can you decrease the amount of PM and simultaneously potentially increase the value, sometimes substantially!
I love that worn modern gold. That is cool! I know the goal of most LowBall collectors is to chase after the lowest, problem-free coin available- and that is a worthy mission.
I like to search for worn coins that have a pleasant appearance, even if not a PO1 or a FA2.
Here is an Ike that is graded FN12. I have many graded much lower, yet this one is one of my favorites as I enjoy the overall appeal and look about this Ike.

Working also on a raw Dansco set.

How about showing the rest of your Ike set?
Here's another one of my favorites along the lines of how low can you go, or "flat" that is

@OAKSTAR
That one needs a slab like this one posted by @illini420 here.
@Zoins- You think it would straight grade?
@illini420 has more experience with these so it may be best to ask him.
Will do. I was thinking a little to much environmental damage....I could be wrong.
I really have no idea on these. @illini420 posted a VG10 and VG08 in the thread mentioned:
