Toned Ikes (Peacock) Photo Thread

braddickbraddick Posts: 25,131 ✭✭✭✭✭

Over the last twenty years, there has been much bantering about and speculation regarding Peacock Ikes. Probably no need to rehash the controversy here, as many threads have done so in the past. I thought it would be fitting to have a "toned-Ike-appreciation-thread" (so to speak).
Let's keep this a fun thread regardless of your opinion on toned Ikes- or toned coins in general.

Here are a couple of my favorites. Some may disagree, but I think the 1974-S Silver is from the Peacock hoard.
(Peacock Ikes have a difference in appearance between the clad and the silver version.)

I have one toned one, and one blast white one. Here’s the toner:

Such an underrated series that people can still get at a reasonable price.

Not a Peacock Hoard coin, at least as far as I know.

The top one looks like it may be one because I remember from all the threads that they tended to be green. @segoja is probably the go-to-guy about these today.

With a hint of reddish blue rims. The date this one was graded (via the PCGS insert) also places it at the right time.

I have a lot of Ike dollars, some raw, some in the issue folders... Probably ten or so.... None have tarnished beyond a dull gray. And they are in a couple of wooden, felt lined, coin cabinets. Cheers, RickO
