Where are all the Walkers?

It’s only an AU55 but I think she’s beautiful.

I just now realized the beauty of this design, especially on the proofs... I'm gonna look into them.

I was browsing on eBay. Is it just me or does this one look matte?

It’s original haze. That’s how I like them, actually, although I prefer some iridescence as these can come with vibrant blues. CAC seems to like the hazy look also. The ‘38 I posted above (which is CAC’d—actually, they both are) is a good example.

Nothing is as expensive as free money.

Yep, that's an extreme example of haze. If you want to look into these, look for coins with good details and contrast or color. These will be found independent of grade, so take some time to look for one. There are many threads discussing what to look for in a good PR Walker, or you can PM me any questions.

Beautiful Walkers everybody!! She saw us through 2 World Wars and is still with us today (ASEs) Just my opinion, though, I think the ASEs should show the original eagle reverse. It’s just too beautiful to not be used.

It may look matte to your eyes from the images, but it is a brilliant proof with thick cellophane toning.

This is a great thread. The WLH is a personal favorite of mine. I recall when they were common change - but always an uncommonly beautiful coin. I also agree with @rokky, the ASE should put the WLH Eagle on the reverse. Cheers, RickO

Can you imagine if we could have saved all that silver from our paper routes? What may have slipped through our fingers!?!? 😩 😉

@OAKSTAR... No doubt there was a lot of silver, and likely some of value. After all, the dimes, quarters and halves were ALL silver back then. None of this clad stuff. Lots of SLQ's, Columbian halves and other occasional coins. Cheers, RickO

Just found mine. I got it from a relative along with some other really nice coins, quite a few of which I regrettably sold. It looks AU to me.

    Edited to add a photo
