Did I Find a 1922 No D Strong Reverse?

This was unexpectedly found as part of a large collection buy. With the knowledge that there are many fakes out there, would someone with more expertise in this field be able to wager an opinion on the legitimacy of this 1922 no-d wheat cent. I don't appear to see any tooling where the mintmark would be... I can try and get better photos at some point, thank you in advance!

    I was going to answer until you said more expertise. It does however have 2 things that seem to qualify. Liberty is stronger left to right, and the second 2 is better struck than the first one.

    It looks like a genuine Die #2 with the strong reverse, albeit well circulated. Has the diagnostics.

    They definitely come with LIBERTY more strongly struck on the right side than closer to the rim... I think yours is genuine. Definitely one I would consider submitting for authentication. Awesome find!

    Will this be graded by PCGS? I thought I read somewhere that they recognize the 1922 no D as an error coin. Am I wrong?

    PCGS grades these (and error coins, too).

    It took me quite awhile to locate this thread but this is what I was referring to in my comment about the 1922 No D and PCGS. This post and the comment from Heather Boyd is below.

    Maybe VG8... I was thinking G6, but what concerns me are the spots on the reverse. Whether or not that prevents it from a straight grade? Probably need the coin in hand to figure that out...

    Very nice pick up. Get an acetone soak going, it may help those dots on the reverse.

    Right. PCGS decided that the "1922 No D Weak Reverse" would be dropped and it would now consider it to be a variant of the '22 D and called "1922 Weak D".

    The "1922 No D Strong Reverse" would live on.

    Neither is graded as an error coin.
