Julie Abrams is now at Stacks Bowers Galleries

I saw and talked to Julie at many a PCGS Member show at the Legend table, she was always friendly and down to earth when I talked to her. Congrats to to Julie and may she be successful with her new job at Stacks!

I saw this and was a bit surprised Legend would let her go. I thought she was heading up their Auctions arm.

I'd echo @ElmerFusterpuck's sentiments all around. She's always been friendly and polite with me, and I too wish her the best of luck with Stacks.

She left Legend and went to Hugh Wood Insurance company very recently, so I was very surprised to see her make another
move so soon.

Interesting how Greg Cohen came from Stacks Bowers to Legend Auctions and Julie went from Legend Auctions to Stacks Bowers.

You have to like both of them.

These many career moves seem to be a double edged sword at times. While it shows ambition and is good for the employee, employers can never be sure how long they,the employee, will stick around once they see many job hops on the resume. The employer may not want to risk a hire on someone who may only be there a short time. The employer invests time, training, expense only to have the new hire move on taking with them the gained knowledge at the employers expense.

This is a big move for Julie. She’s not a youngster and she’ll be relocating from NJ to Ca.

I did not read anywhere in the announcement that she was relocating. Is she? Or is that an assumption?

When at Legend she told me she mainly worked remote from her home (not in NJ as I recall) and did travel to most of the shows for Legend that they were attending. So if not confirmed moving, then perhaps she is doing something similar here?

I also hope this works well for her.

Given Julie's history of being with employers for quite a while, it's pretty obvious things at HWI just weren't a good fit so she made a quick move. I don't think any employer would really hold that against her.

She was at Teletrade years ago. I had trouble communicating with Hugh Wood insurance so hopefully they will have someone as good as she is.

Okay and thanks. Didn't see her moving there but never know. Also Stacks has locations closer which might be available if no remote.

Just spoke to Julie, who is currently driving down to Baltimore. Here's the short version. She left Legend on very good terms. She thinks Hugh Wood is the best in the collectibles insurance business. And she wouldn't have left HW if the Stacks-Bowers positiion didn't make more sense, all things considered. She's not moving, but she'll be traveling as usual to major shows and to pick up collections. And she's excited about getting back to the coin business.
