Someone's failed toning experiment?

I found all of these in the same bag of coins I got from my bank a couple of weeks ago. I love them and think they're pretty, so will be keeping them but I'm really curious how this happened and why they all got dumped?! They do look better in person, I had a hard time picking up the colors with my camera.

They look like they were exposed to heat, either accidentally or on purpose. Looks like they were in a disorganized pile with some coins on top of parts of other coins.

Most of them are zincs. If they were wet, wouldn't they have corroded instead?

Wouldn't they have corroded if they were wet from water since they are zincs?

Take another look. They are corroded.

You should create a website: "Monster Toned Lincoln Cents"

I guess when I said corrosion I meant wouldn't they be all black or start flaking lol
I really like how some of them look, I'd do that to a few shields of mine if I knew how to but I don't dare of course.
    Thank you everyone!
