Post your toned Jefferson Nickels!

These coins seem to be very under appreciated by today's collectors, similar to the Barber series when it was still circulating IMO. I've seen some absolute stunners when they are toned, however, so post your toned Jefferson nickels, proof or MS!

@FlyingAl... You are correct... The Jefferson nickel is a low key coin, not much is heard about them from collectors. They are a nice coin, but the most we hear is about 'full steps'... Cheers, RickO

Looking at the set registry I was surprised that the proofs appear to be somewhat more popular - over 2X more proof registry versus MS.

As an @ricko fan who loves super lustrous blast white coins that look like they just came off the press, exactly as the designers envisioned their coins should look, I’m coming out of the closet with this one: 1938 PR68 with a CAC. PCGS Pop = 21, only one finer:

--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.@winesteven... That is indeed a great Jefferson nickel... That spot over the dome looks like a star... Is it dirt or a carbon spot?? Interesting effect when looked at closely. Cheers, RickO
Unfortunately, I believe it’s a carbon spot. But remember, it’s 1938, and it’s tough finding one among the 21 that looks nicer, and this is one of the few in this grade with a CAC.

@winesteven... Too bad about the spot, but it has a star shape, so makes it interesting. Cheers, RickO
Beautiful coin and color. If you did not already know, that is a FS402 Re Engraved Obverse Design variety, if labeled as such it would be a top pop with none finer (only one in this grade/variety combo.

Excellent! I am a huge fan of the original haze, which your coin has in abundance.

I did NOT know that! Thanks so VERY much. Do you (or anyone else reading this) know if i send it back to PCGS for a Variety attribution, can it keep the same cert number? That would help me, since the CAC sticker would then automatically get reapplied for just $6. Otherwise, I'd have to make the effort to produce the complete paper trail ,which I would indeed do.

@winesteven I have sent similar coins with CAC for attribution and they came back with the same number, I sent them back to CAC for resticker, no problems.

I'm just hoping they aren't AT's! Many of them came out of straight graded slabs.

I had three beautiful 5c was even considering having them graded because they were in such good condition. Till I found out, they were all artificially toned. Yeah, I’ve had bad luck with tone coins.

What a blast from the past.
The two OP coins, I've since sold the 64.

And another toned War Nick:
Did the book actually end in 83?
If so, I’d probably be popping some out and sending them in!
Good catch/eye @Coinscratch - No, the album actually ends on the next page, 90-D. Not much to look at there.
Several years ago, I was looking for a Jefferson Dansco album that ended in 1964 but I couldn't find one. This was the only one I could find at the time, so I used it and just filled up the pages.
I did just the opposite. The ones you might be talking about were probably popped out of slabs and I filled the holds.

I too search for these early Dansco albums. I have one from 1964 for Kennedy halves. It only has the 1964 labeled and the rest of the page offers no labels.
Here the the closest Jefferson album I have located. Not 1964. It does end with 1970.
Edited to fix the photos.
