    Must be a regional thing. I don't remember any dealers where I lived whose inventory looked like that.

    Many of the coins look like whey have been messed with and ALL of the photos are photoshopped.
    Sellers negative & neutral feedback tell the story.

    No, not wrong. I've messaged him and he's not responded. I've watched his auctions for over 6 months now. I have waited to post here because I though he's listen to reason but alas I am wrong again.

    It looks like he’s “smoothing” the image to the max and layering the portrait back on that’s more in focus and is trying to mimic “cartwheel” on the blurred smoothed out fields with the lighting. It might fool a newbie, but will instantly turn off anyone who has ever taken any kind of coin photo. And the coins underneath the photo manipulations all look harshly cleaned, except the sulphured walking Liberty halves and others which look to be cleaned harshly and then ATd

    I've noticed their garbage showing up in some of my saved searches lately.
    They are altering their images, highly unethical and IMO they should be removed from eBay. Dealers and collectors alike should be outraged by this practice.
    Take a look at their feedback.

    I'm not sure how watching him for a month proves he's not buying them that way. With a couple phone calls, I'm sure I could come up with 1000 polished culls. I don't have to polish them myself.

    Just based on the pictures, I would immediately move on (just two or three pictures are enough). Whether purchased that way, photo manipulated, or polished by the seller... I would not even consider those coins. Cheers, RickO

    Between polishing / whizzing the coins plus layering a filter / overlay or ?? on the photos as all of the 'luster' in the photos is basically the same plus I don't think the seller can grade well (MS++++ with dings in it?) I would not even consider these. But...I know a guy who buys coins like this. I have chatted with him about his coins and he is correct when he says 'Grading is only an opinion' and I suppose if he is happy then goal achieved I guess,. He does have a nice shiny collection that is sure to impress folks who don't know what they are looking at.

    I would say that your message told the seller that you are not the type of buyer he is seeking, thus no need to reply.

    I'm not in favor of whizzing coins but they're his, and it's up to him to decide what to do with them. I noted that his eBay listings say that his coins may be cleaned or artificially toned and he has received negative feedback from buyers complaining that the coins they bought were cleaned or artificially toned. Plenty of "fail" to go around here.

    I had a wealthy uncle who used to buy this junk, I brought some of my nice original toned and slabbed halves and he hated them. He told me he didn't care, he liked them and was only spending $1000/month on them. While he was alive, he probably spiked EZest sales in our area by 25%.

    That seller knows exactly what he is doing. He is catering to the non-collectors and the new collectors who don't understand that tarnish and originality is a good characteristic for coins. These are the same collectors who would find an old coin and scrub it until it's bright and shiny. Most people aren't experienced collectors and they prefer coins that are bright and shiny rather than dirty and crusty.

    I don’t know about his other stuff. But every Barber Buba Sully lists looks freshly dipped to me and they are all AG-VG. :s
