This thread is to celebrate classic error coins. Post any great error you have or simply appreciate here!

The US Mint has struck many coins over the years.

Let's start with a Fugio, the first US Federal coin. Here's gorgeous specimen and this one is a gorgeously, perfectly double-struck.

Any thoughts on where this could end up in the Top X errors?

I'm thinking definitely Top 20 but need to review the others to see how high this could go.

So, let's celebrate all U.S. Mint classic error coins in this thread!

Here's a U.S. Mint struck coin struck in San Francisco to get us rolling

The Manila Mint opened in 1920 so all US-PI coins struck earlier than that were struck by the U.S. Mint in the continental US, like this one.

A Tom Mulvaney image of possibly finest know 1918 over 17 Bison. Tom told me the old guy who was a kid got it in change way back in the day.

The buffalo nickel is one of the few All-American designs so it’s amazing to have one in gold!

I have to say I love buffalo nickels so I really like the 1918/7 overdate and the gold buffalo posted by @LindyS and @Byers above!

So I went looking for more Buffalo errors and just ran across this one from The Happy Coin:

1919 Buffalo Nickel Double Struck 40% Off Center Error
Grade: PCGS MS63
Pedigree: Chris Moran

What an incredible coin! It looks perfect, like the Fugio in the OP.

The full ANACS cert isn't shown but I'm guessing it will provide more of a clue to past ownership and provenance. There is a post it note on top that says "G. W. Butts". Is that the name of a collector or dealer?

You should put a high price that you would sell to let the potential buyer know that’s the price they need to pay if they want it.

It would fun to do a version of that with a coin over $1m, like the 1933 DE or 1794 plugged dollar. Then have Number Two say the coin is already worth more than $1m!

I think the full sized copper buffalo was owned by Chambers. He told me about it after he sold it like 30 years ago.

I don’t remember where I bought it, but it could have been Mike Chambers. Mike and I did a ton of business from 1975 to 2010. I bought some amazing off metals from him.

The Fugio cent is not a U.S. Mint coin. It was struck by a private contractor.

It's the first regular issue U.S. Federal coin. Perhaps the thread should be changed to "U.S. Federal"?
