1982D Quarter I c it after the 2 in the date. Pls tell me someone else sees something there??

I do not see a 9. If you stare at your coins long enough with enough magnification you will start to see anything.

I see a 'round' shadow area... Looks like PMD (Post Mint Damage)... Likely an environmental effect. Cheers, RickO

I think he is seeing the circle mark after the date and is comparing it to the 9 in the date and noticing that the circle in the 9 is a similar distance away from the rim as the circle mark on the coin. I understand what he’s seeing, but I also understand it’s just a circular mark on the coin and not anything important

If you take some time time out of your error searching and spend it learning the minting and and die making processes, you'll understand that a working die isn't going to be made with an extra digit or letter. Plus, by knowing the process, you'll waste less time looking at junk, and will have more time to look for actual errors/varieties
