Finally got one in my change

After a couple years I finally got a West Point quarter in my change. The thing stood right out. I was turning in the weekly bottles at the redemption center and when the guy handed me $4.60 for the three bags I had one quarter looked quite different. It was the 2019 River of no Return coin. Nice looking though you could see it has taken a few hits.

Excellent! I've never found one in the wild, but my wife has in some change from the local grocery store. I couldn't believe it...that's such a lottery to find one in change!!!

I have one but it’s in pretty rough shape and some nasty-lookin’ sticky stuff on the obverse as a sort of bonus .... and I didn’t even find it, my buddy found it along with several others roll hunting and gave me his “cull” - which I will cherish forever!! :)

I was going to ask, what's the point of looking for those. Then I realized it's the West point.

I was not aware that was even possible. I thought they were all found by roll searchers. This is exciting to me!

I'm tempted to pick up a few boxes of quarters from the bank the redemption center uses for change and see if they got a few loaded boxes of them.

Just goes to show you that they're still out there.

I personally thought they were long gone.

Don’t use a lot of cash, but always check my change. None in the wild (or anywhere, for that matter) for me. My only one is from a giveaway here on the board. I love it.

As far as I can tell there are only 2 million minted of each one. 5 different quarters in 2019, 5 different quarters in 2020.

Were all 10 quarters the W mint? or did P & D mint the quarters too those years?
I lost interest on the quarters after the statehood series ended in 09.

They made all the other quarters also in those years. P, D, & Proofs.

There were P, D, and S uncirculated versions as well. The 2019 W's were just that West Point mint 5 x 2 million each. The 2020 W's also had a privy mark for the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II 5 x 2 million each.

    Well, let me explain. Lol.
I found this, 2020 W Tallgrass Prairie, in a bank roll. Sent it to PCGS for grading. It came back an astonishing ms 67! Nearly the highest grade.

    Sold it for another,

    Astounding $750!
    Interested in W quarters yet?
    :D
    To answer your last question.
In those two years, 2019 and 2020, the Mint did also mint P,D and S's.
This "W" event was the greatest thing the Mint ever did since producing the "Silver Coinage".
Wish they would do it again!

I've seen the Idaho quarters in change but don't pay attention to any of them anymore.
Maybe I'll look now. Are they worth more than 25c ?

There's a thrill to finding them and even circulated ones have a value above 25c maybe $5.

If you are a quarter collector I think you would definitely want a 2019 and a 2020 to have the 2 types.
