John is one of my favorite dealers and always my first stop at the Long Beach show. I remember that 1861 $… I’m glad a good buddy was able to snag it for his set.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

Nice guy. Very personable. If you ask nicely he’ll give you a hat too.

    BHNC #248 … 140 and counting.

JA has the eye for great coins, always enjoy what he writes although this time, I have to disagree with him for 'Coolest Coin Handled'. I'd say it was one of these two below. ;)

I contributed to the CRO success of 2021, including my purchase of three dogs in OGHs, but I was equally as excited to add these gorgeous medals for my "European cathedrals that I have visited" collection:

    Winchester Cathedral

Milan Cathedral (visited a second time last month, early November)

Always one of my favorite pieces based on my own personal experience there which I wrote about on the site when describing one of them:

<<This one also holds a special place in your author's heart, as I visited back in the 1990s with my then boss who insisted we tour the catacombs beneath the cathedral for so long that we ran out of time to actually attend the business meeting which had been the entire purpose of our trip to Milan to begin with.  Aaaah yes, I sure do miss the corporate world.>>

1785 (or 6) hard to tell from that image and i'm not familiar enough to know just by looking and that 8 digit number in the cro url does NOT translate to the cert number unfortunately.

    1. Must have been regraded by the new owner.

Don’t look now, but the PCGS price guide values the piece at $140,000! I think you left some money on the table with that transaction. 😉

Very cool to see you collecting these. Visiting European cathedrals is amazing and it's great to be able to pair these with your visits.
