Will you get your morgan and peace dollars graded? I was able to get two p morgans and 2 peace dollars. I am leaning towards getting 1 of each graded. What are your plans? Get all yours graded, some graded, or none graded?

    I purchased 2 of each coin plus one extra D Morgan for a gift for my brother. I'll be getting one of each coin graded and keeping the other set of 6 ungraded. This is not for resale but for my Morgan and Peace dollar sets.

    Always looking for attractive rim toned Morgan and Peace dollars in PCGS or (older) ANA/ANACS holders!

    Submitted the 10 each CC and O privy ones, and the 9 total P/D/S Morgans at the PCGS Invitational. Just flipped the 3 Peace to PCGS at the post office upon receipt today (didn't even open the box). So, yeah.

    Nope. I like to keep issues such as these in the Mint packaging. There’s something I don’t like about grading a coin minted day before yesterday.

    Nope. I prefer my coins not to have finger oils on the edges. In other words, I think graders should wear rubber gloves when handling coins. Just my humble opinion but I have my flame suit on...I'm ready.

    Yes, the best 2 of each kind that I received. I hope to get at least one 6-coin PCGS 70 set to keep my modern commemorative set complete.

    The pre-market for 70's still indicates around $350 each and if I can get my own graded for $135 all in cost it is a good result, but there has been a lot of time involved.

    If you are considering getting yours graded, look them over very carefully first. If you see any flaws, don't bother to pay for grading, and just keep them in OGP or in a nice capsule holder like shown above. There will be plenty of low cost graded 69's available slabbed in several weeks.

    I will not be grading the ones I purchased. If I want a graded one, I will wait several years and see how they look in the slab before I pull the trigger.

    I understand that logic as some of them already have milk spots, so the risk of even more developing over time is very real.

    Ive been debating this, the market seems to have cooled on raw's a great deal , almost to the point of not being able to sell them, not to mention, yesterday in shop, im getting call after call of people wanting to sell theirs. Mine are still sitting in shipping boxes for the time being. If I could get enough 70's on a few, it might be worth it.

    I might also add: if the grading services were back to normal speed Id consider it even more, but i know it would be next year before they come back, and Im not talking economy!!

    In my opinion they are not worth grading - for modern coins that I received straight from the mint and know their genuine, there is zero need to grade them. I have assembled an entire collection of P mint BU peace dollars and someday may get those graded. That would be worth grading - modern ASEs and these basically flawless 69 or 70 coins are not worth it IMO. I keep all of mine in capsules and then in 2x2 flips and store in the plastic PGCS containers for easy access and easy to look at. I keep the empty boxes and COAs in the closet...

    I figure they are all 69s or 70s or they are spotted. No reason to get them slabbed because I don’t collect slabbed Morgan’s as a series. Also no chance of being eligible in any of my Everyman type sets. Since they aren’t real coins made for spending, any wear that makes them circulated is either artificial or accidental damage.

    One CC and one peace. Both with complimentary spots (to enhance my mint experience 😂). Their words not mine.
    They are already in their “spots 😂” in the the “ group W safe” 🙀.
    I feel no need for further abuse but that will pass next year or so and I’ll maybe grab a 69 of each 😉

    Thanks all for the feedback. I am now thinking NOT to get any graded. I do notice MS 69's are not going for all that much value other than the CC seem to be going for the most.

    No. All 32 of mine have been shipped to their buyer. If I do put a graded set in my collection, it will probably be after I allow time for milk spots to develop so that I can pick the right coins.

    I wonder what the final population of graded coins will look like.

    The risk is (and my experience is) if you send it into PCGS expectine a 69 or 70, done freak out when it comes back as a 67.

    Of course you can always send in in to PCGS just to get a nice new blue box! Thats the consolation prize.

    You can send the capsule or request your OGP they’ll send it back. Might cost a couple bucks 😉

    Yes, pretty much most of my coins including the one single 2021 Morgan I have will be graded with NGC. It’s not that I care about the grade, I just want them protected like most of my coins, having a young child who is three years old and very inquisitive when I open my safe she rushes over to see what’s inside and try and touch everything she can reach at her height. Having them in the capsule but graded by NGC or PCGS is a must over so she can appreciate them without potentially damaging them. They will all be her coins in the future anyway so they are there for her future.
