    About 12? years ago I was working on an underground water (HYDRANT?) line when a car drove by and one of the crew shouted out, "Hey, there goes Fabio!" All the guys laughed......then the car turned around and came back.....the driver needed directions...... it was Fabio......what a hoot!

    The seller might be right about being uncirculated, as if it is counterfeit, it would probably never been circulated. :p

    Mistakes are natural. But repeated mistakes without reflection are something else. That may be the “stupidity” he was referring to. In research, he admitted uncertainty openly. “If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?” This shows humility. Even a Nobel laureate accepted doubt. That humility makes the quote less cynical and more observational.

    I have long ago stopped finding ebay listings surprising... Especially in coins... Many who post the coins have no idea what the terms mean and have just picked them up from looking at other listings. So they use them to sell grandpa's old coins... ebay is the trash heap of coins... Yeah, there are occasional treasures, I just do not have the time or patience to wade through the pile.     That's was what I was going to say. I'm sure that it's not Uncirculated, but I'm not sure that it is genuine.

    Of course it could be "Mint State" from the Chinese Mint. I'm no sure how they turn their products into "circulated Morgan Dollars." Striking an Unc. and then making it VF sounds like a lot of work. It's easier to do what they did a Machin's Mills 200+ years ago, and strike in VF from the get-go.

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
