Happy Birthday! And welcome! I’m also a YN around the same age. Lots to learn here. I’ve probably learned more here in 2 years than 6 years of collecting on my own. Enjoy and have fun! :)

Todays numismatics require that you know how to take excellent photos of your coins.

You have plenty of time to learn how to photograph coins, know that this is super important tho.

    BTW welcome to the madness.

It's great that you're here. Don't forget to use CoinFacts since there is a ton of great info and pics there. Also, you might be surprised at what's available with the search box feature here (although it always very effective).

Hey, glad to see you took the plunge into our pool of fun and learning enjoyment! Make sure you get yourself a coin book to guide you along the way. The Red Book is probably the most popular. Very affordable. Don't be afraid to ask any questions. Post often and like mentioned, take pictures.

Lol. Forgot to mention. You and my sister share the same birthdays. She left us many years ago at the age of 2. In 1966. She would have been my wife's age, 57. Sorry to dampen the fun. :/

:D I hope you said that in jest? About your parents kicking you out? :D
Anyway, if money is tight right now for you. You can do what many of us here do, "coin roll hunt". Yes, go to your bank and ask for some rolls of different denominations. This way you can have fun searching for some key dates, well conditioned ones and varieties. So, what you don't find, you can bring back and receive most of your money. We call this FREE MONEY enjoyment. You'll be surprised what's in those rolls! Good luck. ;)

    Yes! Yes! Yes!
If you don't have an account with them they might give you trouble? Just be polite and they'll be cooperative. If your parents have certain credit cards with the bank name, they are good to go as well.
Good Luck and let us know what you "hunt" down. Lol
Here's a one visit result not too long ago.

Read up on the adventures of Joeycoins and you might find a way to make some $. He is really good at as well as others ( if it was me I’d grab on to him for some mentoring). He’s literally pulled hundreds of $ from roll hunting. 🤓🙀

@SummerDays3104 ... Welcome aboard.... Don't discount the military as an option... I joined at 17 and had a great four years. Then got out.... was married with one child. Got a job and began a long career.... Never regretted any of it. Coins are a great hobby... can be a lifelong interest. Have fun and good luck. Cheers, RickO
