    73 bids from 8 bidders.

It's interesting that the cheek looks fairly clean. I wonder if that's a look they go for.

All low feedback, likely inexperienced bidders. Sad.

I know, too bad that money is not being used for good coins. And once they find out they have been screwed, a lot of that money probably goes away.

@Zoins.... Very true, however, that is a matter of perception. I know people with clearly AT coins that absolutely love them. To each his/her own.... Enjoy the hobby. Cheers, RickO

"Stunning patina." I don't care where you're from, that's funny.

Wayte Raymond coin board toning consists of concentric rings of color. This is AT.

    AT becoming more common everywhere.
PCGS /David Hall tried to fight the AT'ers as I recall , But he's gone now.
The TPG's silent on this now.
Lots of AT used to cover up coins problems. Get More money for coin by by Trying to make you think eye appeal VS coin quality.
I see lots of Peace dollars getting AT . In the 80'S toned peace dollars where unheard of.
I think a lot of them are using Gases so I've been told by some dealers who are expert in real natural toning dollars.
Lots of money going into red Coppers . Good luck keeping them that way long term, to preserve your investment.

I find it an ugly coin regardless of how it came to look as it does.

  • Steven59Steven59 Posts: 10,483 ✭✭✭✭✭

If there was a bid of $448 on it then why is the coin back on for a BIN for $300? Shill bidders got a little too greedy???

They're praying on people who get caught in the mindset of "Wow, several bidders were willing to pay $450, it must be a rip at $300!"

Yup. Two of her "beachguy" friends ran it up, but the sucker bidders would not bite. :D

Looks like she found a sucker on the BIN, though, probably for a "bargain" of $250 for an AT toned piece of junk silver.
