Morgan Fans, give me your opinion, 1904 O (New purchase)

With all of hype of 100 anniversary of the P, S & D, I got the itch to purchase the final O minted Morgan. I am not planning to have graded, nor do I believe that coin is rare, I just wanted hear what the fine members of the forum thought. Thanks for looking...

Sorry to say but it looks cleaned and/or polished.
Typical O strike. Looks nice. Is it toned that color or is it the photos? I suspect it's the photos.

How are they polished? I compared to an MS65 CC Morgan that I have, and yes this coins looks (different) altered.
It appears there is a bit of polish residue left between the TAT in STATES on the reverse and the lower wreath.

I too believe it has been cleaned / polished.

Kennedys are my quest...
I do, too.

Quite a difference in the two photo's, but in the large image I think I see some halo'ing and that means cleaned. Lots of small contact marks on the large images, the smaller one looks like a MS65+?

Certainly has signs of polishing.... Otherwise a mid MS coin.... Cheers, RickO
Heavily dipped, probably done in the 70s like millions of others.
Agreed with above sorry.
Hoard the keys.
Thanks to all for feedback. Would you keep? Paid $68. Just asking your thoughts..
Sorry, but as the others have mentioned it has been cleaned.
Without seeing how it was advertised it is hard to say if it was misrepresented.
It might be best to just accept it as a learning lesson.
1904-O UNCIRCULATED BU RARE DATE VALUE! MORGAN SILVER DOLLAR SILVER COIN
The bottom photo was the ad photo - eBay, highest bidder, $64 plus tax
All the mint luster has been polished out.
With a bit of patience, you could get an MS63 graded example for a similar price. And it would almost certainly be far superior to the one you posted. I’d also be leery of a seller who listed that date as “BU Rare Date Value”.

After looking at the listing you bought, the sellers other listings and seller feedback... not uncirculated BU....... return it.
No. 1904-Os are quite common. Certified, genuine unaltered examples are reasonably priced.
You overpaid for an altered surfaces raw coin. Dump the loser and move on.
On the bright side, this is a great learning opportunity for you.
Not to be rude, if you are not better at reviewing listing photos and seller feedback you should stay with graded coins.
You overpaid. Return it if you can.
Looks very washed out.
As far as I know, in uncirculated, these 1904-O Morgan dollars generally come with nice booming luster.
At $68 I would send it back and wait for something better.
No I would not.
Yeah cleaned. Sucks man, I have been there more than once buying raw Morgans at local auctions. What I did is buy a graded set of common dates from AU53 - AU58 and MS63 - MS65 and studied the crap out of them. That helped a lot.
