Would you not buy it because it’s 666?

ScarsdaleCoinScarsdaleCoin Posts: 5,212 ✭✭✭✭✭

Newp in our inventory and when we put it up got chills from the J-666 number. Would that 666 stop you from buying?

I respect everyone’s belief. My question is will the items be appropriate for my customer base and their beliefs. Lots of different types of people out there. You just never know but you can get a feel for it. Does not bother me personally but it’s a good question.

    It's just a number.

It would cross my mind but, in the end, I'd buy it, if I really needed it and the price was right.

I guess the above could also be said for eternal damnation. :o

But, I don't think a coin will lead you to suffer eternal hellfire.

Some of our more bizarre board members might actually like it. ;)

I would be more concerned that PCGS says it is a one cent piece ?

Most, maybe. But I had a very religious customer who wouldn't buy a coin from me because the ebay ID ended in "666".

There is a hidden "666" in the serial number too.
    "6". "6". (3+3=) "6"

And of course the square root of 666 = 25. 80690
And the coin number on the slab is 60890
they are just numbers to me :)

    .
since it is a pattern despite pcgs calling it a 1c, it has no legal tender value far as a i know but if it did, it would be 1c. :p

it isn't a triglyph so we call it what, a monoglyph?

Can't please everybody now a days - somebody that wants it will buy it if the price is right - not because of a number on the label.

There are a lot of coins bought every day because of a number on the label. Why should this one be different?

Cancel culture has been trying to cancel 666 since the creation of organized religion. The number wouldn't stop me from purchasing however the fact that the coin is neither gold or silver would.

The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.

This coin has 666 written all over it.

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

A 666 3-game series would be a pretty good score too.
