DIe crack?

moursundmoursund Posts: 3,207 ✭✭✭✭✭

Is this a cracked die, or are my eyes fooling me?
I've read that war nickels often suffered from die cracks.
Thanks!

Looks like a die crack to me. Too bad it isn’t an S mint mark. It could almost be a $ crack…

cool. I went ahead and bought it on ebay. I wanted a choice example of silver war nickel, and the crack makes this one interesting...

    yes, they really do.

keep looking and you'll find a bisected die. since there are plenty out there, you may desire that over a large radial crack/break.

Yes, like Lance says die cracks on these are common. I have one with two bisecting cracks on the rev. One going N to S and one going E to W.

Yes a nice bisecting die crack, war year nickels have more varieties then other years.

    I like it also.
I find a lot of them on Lincoln cents when I do a roll search.
See if you can put a set of war nickels together will all having die cracks.
