ana show report - no pictures
From what I saw and experienced:
Tuesday - busy
Wednesday - very busy
Thursday - extremely busy.
Dealers were buying. International dealers were buying. Nice 64-65 morgans were selling. Fatties were selling. Raw collector coins were selling. "Type 1" proof silver eagles were selling. Lots of raw and plastic gold available. Not too much generic/junk silver from what I saw. Lots of unstickered coins available for those who play with stickers. The Tyrant collection is remarkable. Aside from the obvious rarities, I enjoyed seeing the '64 SMS coins.
The '33 is GEM! GC had a nice collection of monster silver dollars on display. A couple of Peace dollars in the group were very attractive.
I had a chance to meet and chat with messydesk. He is a nice guy. Same for Gary. The dealers with the all the rattlers are very nice as well.
There is PLENTY of young blood in the hobby. There is nothing to worry about in that respect.
It is absolutley fine to have a coin show. Most people were smiling. I enjoyed talking with fellow hobbyists. The internet has its perks, but a large show like this is definitely something you cannot experience or represent digitally .
I hope everyone who attended had fun. There was no doubt something for everyone. Kudos to rosemont and the ana for putting on a great show.

That's very good to hear.
How could you tell, weren't they all wearing masks?
Great report, thanks,

I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
@spacehayduke Facemasks were recommended, not mandatory. Less than 10 % were wearing them.
That was my observation at summer FUN as well, a very pleasant surprise, and pleased to see the continuation at the ANA.
Got here Tuesday and it's non-stop coin action from breakfast to bedtime. Imagine if you didn't have a major coin show for a couple years and then compressed all the shows you missed into one. Oh what, that's what happened. Every dealer I talked to reports healthy results.
The Tyrant collection is sick, and the portion here is just the US type set highlights. The construction of the exhibit is first class and the presentation is nicely done. Someone invested a lot in the exhibit materials (and insurance) and it is greatly appreciated.
Aisles are wide, which is really nice - much easier to navigate without running into people. On the downside the club tables were relegated to the outfield and there is little traffic there. Masking is about 50% and a lot of people you don't recognize since you haven't seen them in two years, and they are wearing a mask on top of that.
So pleased to see Ken Bressett here, who is walking around and seems as healthy as ever.
I understand a major donation to the ANA will be announced tomorrow. Stay tuned.
Thanks for the interesting report. Glad to hear the show is going so well. As far as masks, unless they are N95 or better, they are useless against a virus. So smile, be happy....Cheers, RickO
An informative post.
