Sorry @Samuel08 I didn't see your original thread you started yesterday. I'm all in for this set, just waiting for more info too.

It is just the new design in reverse finish... S & W mint coins. Cheers, RickO

I fear it may be just another repackaged item within the walls of the slaughter house.

Except that it isn't two of the new design.
It's yet another version of the Type 1, paired with a type 2. Both in reverse proof finish.

It will be interesting to compare the total amount of silver used this year compared to past years. They are pushing out a lot of silver material this year (when you include all the Morgans and Peace Dollars).

I was very surprised to see a type 1/type 2 set. I really thought type 1 was done. Is this the end of the line???

Yep but then the mint should stop pretending they are ending the type 1…because they are not if they just keep putting them out. Next one comes with a free f’n blender

@derryb - If you would be so kind, I believe that this thread needs to be updated to reflect the recently released info on 21XJ (i.e., one T1 and one T2, as opposed to two T2).

They need to kill all the used type 1 dies, and sell (auction?) them as mint collectables at the end of this year.

what would happen if a counterfeiter bought one

Then he could strike fake coins with cancelled/defaced dies. ;)

the mint sold state quarter "dies"

the design was completely removed from it and all you had was a plain hunk of metal.

Updated. Don't let a rumor start that it is going to be two T2s...it's a T1/T2. Who would've ever thought we'd be using TYPE 1 TYPE 2 descriptions??

You are correct. I should have been more clear.

@derryb started a thread back in July. See the link. In the first post of this thread, he was maintaining a list of all the 2021 ASE and AGE releases. For the coins associated with 21XJ, he wrote: "T2 S & W 1 oz reverse proof two coin set". We now know that this information is inaccurate.

Based on recent information released by the Mint, we now know that 21XJ will consist of:
    T1 ASE Reverse Proof - W
    T2 ASE Reverse Proof - S

My post here was intended to alert @derryb to the latest information. I see now that posting here was a mistake. I just should have posted to his original thread. And I will do that now.

Thanks for clarifying the issue. :)
