Judging by the clear pictures especially of the V.D.B the owner may not know its not genuine.

Very crude fake
The seller has the description "1909 s vdb lincoln cent wheat penny. The most sought after lincoln cent there is. Grab your piece of history."
He also doesn't have ANY feedback as a seller, only a buyer!

Been waiting to mention it but low and no feedback selling is what any new seller would have. It’s not proof of anything but I some cases it is supportive evidence that a new seller selling a “rare coin” and only such might know what’s up.
I try not to focus on low to no feedback as I’d never report based upon feedback levels.
But that is a poor fake.
A very poor job. They should be embarrassed!
Damn, that has everything "FAKE" going on - that should be the learning coin on how to tell a fake 09-S VDB!
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
You sir are correct, but first sell out of the shoot and he likely believes its a Genuine, pretty high value coin isn't the best idea, I never meant the seller was doing something dishonest, or even shady, he likely hasn't a clue the coin is a counterfeit he posted to clear of pictures of it for one thing!

I agree. Most shysters like "cloudy" days and rotten pictures.

It looks a lot like the typical, not ready for prime time, Chinese product.
what a fugly crude fake
It certainly is a fake, has anyone messaged the seller? He likely does not know... Cheers, RickO
Yes, I messaged the seller (with no reply received, thus far) and reported it.

Sad, already 10 bids. I messaged him too, wonder if he'll respond?
He likely does know.

Thank you Mark,
I'm surprised the seller hasn't took the listing down after your contact, or hasn't yet?
As of 10:40am Eastern Time the listing is still active with 10 bidders at $338.33

Reported.
He might not have even seen my message yet. And/or he might know it's a counterfeit and either wont respond or will do so later.

I just checked on the listing and its still available to view, BUT! the seller ended the auction stated the item is No Longer Available!
So, another good job collectively speaking of course.

I just ran down the newly listed 09SVDB's on ebay and it looks like there is a lot of pretty nice choices of the coin to choose from, LOTS of slabbed and graded ones too!
Now if something could be done with those 1909S-VDB cup coasters that keep showing up in the United States Coins listings, I mean they're not a coin at all!

Two messages to him. If he doesn't take it down then he's a rat fink.
