1909S-VDB what do others think of this one?

Scrolling through some images of 09SVDB's the obverse of this one caused me to STOP and wonder about several details of the coin.
So, first here is the actual coin that struct me as maybe off, or odd?
Now here is a sample picture I used for comparison, its a little more worn which I thought would have less details.
1st- The difference in the eye, over filled, maybe to even with the eye lids, it just looks strange.
2nd- The little cup (pocket) at the corner of the eye socket seems overly cluttered.
3rd- The bow tie, its not in the middle, the under folds at ends and below the bow tie.
4th- Those vertical face creases just below the nose and at the corner of Lincoln's mouth seems to be missing.
Other things, the 0 in the date doesn't have what I would call the normal shape I've been seeing on other 09SVDB's.
The second nine's base of the upper loop.

Did you compare the MM positions?
BHNC #203
In a PM with another forum member it was determined the nose is wrong and the mint mark appears to be likely to high for a #1 die set, along with the other issues.
I can say this now, the coin was on ebay but the listing disappeared the other day, POOF!

It's raw and was in an on-line auction. Pass.
Man you will become an expert at detecting 09SVDB fakes. I would just never waste my time, at any price, to buy a key coin that is not slabbed by PCGS or NGC.
Is there a one-stop-shop link (with pictures) to document/verify a real S-VDB with die marker or other identities?
Compare to this. The MM looks a little funky to me, but it appears to match up pretty well.

I don't think that it is genuine. The mint mark does not match the rest of the coin.
I remember a John Wayne police film I say years ago. It seemed like he had caught the leading crook early in the movie. His line was "Too da*ned convenient."
The whole obverse looks funky.
A raw 09SVDB is pretty much guilty until proven innocent.
So, when I post these if I don't have a SOLID case of it being a phony I have to post with caution! with NO links to the source, no seller info, or even if the coin for sale.
I'm working at it.
Thanks for your post!

That was my take as well, the reverse didn't seem to be as off like the obverse is, I agree with you it looks funky, and that eye is down right creepy!

LoL! I've looked at a LOT of these over the past year, maybe someday I'll become an official "Lincoln Cent Policeman" I am wanting to train my mind an eye to a higher level of spotting more of the higher grade phonies, but that takes posting some here that are more "questionable", and that's where I can get into trouble.

Thanks, it is about learning, it is about somewhat doing what we can to protect the world of coin collecting, its about doing what we can to keep the counterfeit, Altered, and fake phonies out of circulation as much as reasonable. I doubt it possible now for me to see an 09SVDB (anywhere) and not want to inspect its details, I just can't help it, its an obsession
I'm now looking to find my first 55 DDO phony, seems the three, 09SVDB, 14-D, and 55 DDO are the top of the list for Lincoln counterfeits.
I do have another Lincoln cent endeavor I'm contemplating and that's to find a way to inform the misinformed on ebay about the falsehood of the realm of "No Mint Mark" very rare Lincoln Cents!
I have contacted LOTS of sellers listing these (being extremely respectful) about the truth about their coins and I've gotten really good responses, most really seem to not know. But, its a lot of work to reach out to all these sellers one at a time and then do followups, and pictures. So, I'm thinking of another way, something along the lines of buying a roll of 1946-P lincoln cents, list them on ebay, say two at a time, for say $1.00 starting bid, BUT to put something in the title along with "No Mint Mark" something like this,
"Two 1946 Lincoln Cents Falsehood of No Mint Mark"
The coins would really be for sell, but the idea is to get them to Carefully Read The Description Details. There is where I would spill my guts. If no one bids on the coins then ebay will relist it automatically 5 times! I mean 5 times for a 7 day auction might be a way to draw them to me instead of me searching them out one by one.

The pardon is for tyrants. They like to declare pardons on holidays, such as the birthday of the dictator, or Christ, or the Revolution. Dictators should be encouraged to keep it up. And we should be encouraged to remember that the promiscuous dispensation of clemency is not a sign of political liberality. It is instead one of those valuable, identifying marks of tyranny.

Thanks for the link, it has LOTS of helpful info about Fake 09SVDB's, some I knew, some I didn't!
