I previously attended the NOISE coin show every month which is north of Chicago but they are still canceled till further notice. I would like to attend but it is too far for me. Have fun though.

Nope. The ANA is closer for me I can wait.
Thanks for the info, I will try to make it on Thursday.
I wont' be there but be sure to bring a mask and any other covid preventative the local goobermint requires.
Also bring protection - I couldn't bring my pistol but maybe the locals know how to prevent thefts.
Sorry for being brutally honest. ( I am an ex-Wisconsinite that used to go to the big city when it was survivable.)

My digital cameo album 1950-64 Cameos - take a look!
Please be sure to post show reports. I wish we had coin shows here... we are wide open for all things now... No restrictions for vaccinated people (and no one can ask status). Some still wear masks - probably a way of life for some now. So... also check bullion sales... market dipping a bit...but crystal ball says - hmmm... cloudy right now...
Cheers, RickO
Tinley Park is one of the nicer Suburbs. You won't find any problems if you choose to attend.

…gotta love the classic Chicago Art Deco font on that baby!
Got my eyes set on one particular coin. A certain Washington quarter variety. As of right now, not saying. Just in case I give you guys any ideas to beat me to it!

I hope they move the show to another state... Sorry, I would not enter that City at any costs.... They want to defund the police with third world murder rates so high and the mayor wants to defund the police and blames the guns... So to all my collector friend. Be careful, use caution, safety is your major issue. Look around when you are inside and out. Pay attention to your surroundings. Have a plan where you will go or hide if something happens. When loading and unloading have a spotter when possible. If you don't like what you see keep driving. When eating out be careful once again of your surroundings. When leaving for home make sure you are not being followed. Fast food will get you home and when you are getting close to home make sure you are not being followed. People have been followed for hundreds of miles. All they need is one score. Crazy World we live in.
Tinley Park is a suburb of Chicago. Your concerns are valid in some of the inner city neighborhoods. There are some nice neighborhoods in the city as well. Tinley Park is a nice Suburb.
I can wait for the CSNS in April, no need to take my coins and cash that far south.
Just One More Day!
Are you ready?
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.I think they messed up on the early bird passes.
Both of my Brothers will be there on Friday. I am in CA, and we have a show Friday and Saturday in Sunnyvale which I will be attending...
Post pictures. Thanks!
I'll probably go just to say hi to a few friends. I typically can't buy anything at shows.
The comments about crime and what not are completely mis-placed. This is a beautiful southern suburb (just off I-80) some 8 to 10 miles from the city limits. It's as safe as any neighborhood you live in.
The above post is entirely correct. One can get hit at any Walmart, HomeDepot, etc....just as at any coin show. That's the silly world we live in today, unfortunately.
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.I was at the last show at the end of February 2020 that Tinley Park had. It's a nice area and good show. There's Portillo's not too far from it, grab a combination after...
Hey not bad
I agree Tinley Park is safe. I also agree with getting a combo at Portillos.
Well since you’re talking food what is the name of that hot dog joint down from the center the ANA is at ? Looks like a little hole in the wall but you’ll think they’re giving something away the line is always so long. I hope it survived the pandemic. I just googled it. Gene and Judes. Gotta go if you want a Chicago dog when your at the ANA. they wrap a giant pile of fresh cut fries in with the hot dog.
Gene and Judes is a institution. Great depression dogs.
Day ONE.
Many pics and two quick buys.

Everyone seems so happy. Some owners are saying they can't keep their tables full!
We can breathe much better, as well. No masks required.

Where he had all those sick toned Eagles, I purposely found an Eagle with that tremendous Color with the same year as my ms 68 Toned Eagle. With his ms 68, as well. I asked him how much?

Now, mind you, his has a comparison to my colored Eagle. He told me, " $495". That's what I wanted to hear!

If you don’t mind revealing, for how much did you sell the 3 Silver Eagles?
…how come it’s almost impossible to tell which decade we are in when looking at coin show pictures?…I mean seriously, can’t some of you folks hit the mall before you go
I was there an hour after it opened Thursday. I can never buy from Dealers because I won't pay full retail + for anything but I did say hi to a few friends and looked through the auction material Bullock Auctions brought. At least the first couple of hours this was the best attended Greater Chicago Coin and Currency show I've been to for years. Lots of people looking at the available inventory.
Seemed like Dealers were going at it trading inventory, this was confirmed in a conversation I had with a Dealer friend. There hasn't been much in the way of shows in the Midwest so they were eager to do business.
Thanks for the update and pictures @JoeyCoins

Offering a slabbed coin for $5 (let alone $2.50) means someone made a very big mistake.
@joeykoins Thanks for both this post and your original post letting us know about the show. I made it for a couple of hours on Friday, had a great time. I am so glad that things are getting back to normal.
Nice report and coins.
Unfortunately, $5 or $2.50 may also prove to be a mistake. Selling costs for items such as those are likely to be high.
GREAT NEWS!
