How many posts per day is "normal" here? What is your post/day count?

I've seen some prolific posters and started digging into it a bit. I have an average of 0.9 posts per day over 14.9 years while others have a whopping avg of 11 per day over 20 years!
Below is mine plus two sample members
Years || Avg # of Posts per day
14.9 || 0.9
3.9 || 12.8

Guess I've averaged .9 posts per day at 14 years and 4506 posts. Wow not much, should make a few happy.

Haven’t figured it out. But for many years I posted very little. The reason was because I did not know how to post pictures. A couple years or so ago, I finally figured out how to post pictures. I have been posting like crazy ever since!

I do not have any idea how many posts I make per day. Would imagine between ten and fifteen... been around a long time though. I think on one earlier software version, this information was measured.... Not sure though. I visit each day, sometimes twice. I do not open all threads, and do not comment on all threads opened. Once, about twenty years ago, when the software changed, all post counts went to zero. And when the open forum was discontinued, those posts were also eliminated from post count. Been a lot of changes. Cheers, RickO

and that is with a couple big breaks. sheesh.
i hold back quite a bit these days.
I guess it depends upon the topics du jour. If there’s some interesting topics I can easily do a dozen or two. If not, maybe zero to two.
You can calculate the exact number. Take your number of posts and divide it by the days since you signed up. You've had 3127 posts in approximately 500 days, so you're at a little over 6 per day.

I post when I feel like commenting but I read more than I comment I know that for sure... still, it adds up over the years. +1

It’s a good average but some days the count is pretty high and some much less. Of course if you include my time as nwcs here that number would change some.
I'm at 5 or 6 posts per day over 4.75 years, I don't think that is prolific and I actually spend less than 30 minutes a day here.
great question @jessewvu

1.23 posts per day for over 10 years seems about right. I posted a lot more in the first year for sure. After a while, many things have already been discussed multiple times so I tend to comment less on those posts but I still read a lot of them. I also try to stay out of disagreements more than I used to considering the climate has changed to more moderation than in the past.
I hardly ever start a new discussion anymore. I used to post when I bought a new bust coin back when I first started because there were a group of posters that were really active at the time. Most of them are gone now so the fun kind of faded away.
My post count is vastly different now than it was when 1) the now-defunct Open Forum (RIP) was available, and 2) when the activity on the World Coin Forum (especially British stuff) was high. I would guess during those years I was posting around an average of 40-50 posts per day. These days, very few, if any.

Why?
You know your numismatic stuff and are a great forum member!
tyvm for your kind and generous words.
just want to make sure i'm trying not to be a know-it-all. there are tons of members here that when cumulated, probably know every nusmismatic fact i do and then obviously man whom know much more. also a large portion of the posts i would make have already been made, and probably more than once. nothing wrong with revisiting obviously but i'm not a fan of being overly repetitious. i'd rather bump and/or link an older thread where is has been said and probably better since a lot of the regulars are really and unfortunately sporadically posting, for whatever reasons.
also there is a lot said about not living on the forum. for those using their phones and/or mobile tablets/notebooks, not as big a deal because they can jump in and out easily wherever they are throughout the day. i'm not old and retired so sitting around here all day can be fun and useful, it is also not advisable as there are many other things i need to tend to and there are some thing out there in this pandemic world, i still desire to do. heck at the very least i should be beating the numismatic bushes more and digging up really neat stuff.
those kinds of reasons and more.
also, to add: since the forum caters (like the rest of the world) us with likes/lol/agrees etc, that negates the need for me to make some seemingly needless posts. it lets them know someone has been there, what they thought (kind-of) and that someone gives a darn. we could probably use a couple more specific ones to click, imo.
I guess we can consider what happened to you an"open and shut" case, HUH?

It really doesn't matter how much you post, but it matters to me how many people actually CARE about what you have to say when you do post.

.8 average per day for me tho that average has gone up recently. Gotta get to that 10,000 post mark ya know.
I am sure mine is pretty low, since I've gone several years without logging in at all. I read more than I write, I know my knowledge is limited compared to most.
To be honest, most of what I do post is of little importance and likely would not have any consequences or be missed if I stopped again...but, I'm enjoying it right now so I continue to log in almost daily.
Around 3.3 posts per day is normal.
Much fewer, who are you?
Much more, who do you think you are??

.49 posts per day for the past 18.75 years, probably close to average considering the number of lurkers here.
