Found this while coin roll hunting. Rough but very interesting? Can this be an S lurking behind that D?

    Just went to Variety Vista. No d over s pictured. But, went to PCGS and found this d over s 1944. Nothing like mine. :*

    Although, the top part of V.V.'s S, looks very similar to the top of my S. but in different positions.

    Doesn't look like it - can you tell if it is raised or just a stain on the coin?

    There are two varieties of the 1944 D over S, the one pictured above and variety 2, with the D centered over the S. However, this doesn't look like either one of them.

    You got me opening up Cherry Pickers Joey. I was trying to find a trace of the "S" above "D", or, something in the center. I determined It would be "D" under ding. :p

    Here's a die 1 I just sold. The 'triangle' above the upright of the D is the main pickup point, and should be visible even on lower-grade examples. This one was ANACS VF35.
