Hi guys,
Found this while coin roll hunting. Rough but very interesting? Can this be an S lurking behind that D?
Thanks guys.
Going to Variety Vista right now!

Just went to Variety Vista. No d over s pictured. But, went to PCGS and found this d over s 1944. Nothing like mine.
My 44
Although, the top part of V.V.'s S, looks very similar to the top of my S. but in different positions.

I gently took a toothpick to the area.
After photo

--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line. There are two varieties of the 1944 D over S, the one pictured above and variety 2, with the D centered over the S. However, this doesn't look like either one of them.
That's just a damaged Mint mark.
Looks like PMD to me.
Yeah, you guys are probably right? Thanks

--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line. You got me opening up Cherry Pickers Joey. I was trying to find a trace of the "S" above "D", or, something in the center. I determined It would be "D" under ding.
Thanks for posting, and making me l@@k. Keeps me sharp.
Here's a die 1 I just sold. The 'triangle' above the upright of the D is the main pickup point, and should be visible even on lower-grade examples. This one was ANACS VF35.
Yep... Looks like PMD. Really good pictures, and nice work removing the contaminant. Cheers, RickO
To be kind:
Nope, it ain't it.
