In my opinion,, not worth grading. Extremely common coin, not worth the expense.

No - Common Coin. Would not pay over BV for it.

This kind of material I just price it at my grade (BU, CH BU, Gem Bu), price accordingly, CW Trends, etc. Then put in 2x2 for raw collector coin binder pages I have in my case at shows. Sales of raw collector coins can help pay show expenses.

    Nope.

No, typical MS-63 type that’s super common. Not sure what the holder means by high relief, either.

Why do you think it would be worth grading?

It is not worth grading in my opinion. Not a high quality piece, fairly common. Cheers, RickO

@winter -- Only one person so far who asked what this is worth TO YOU. Everyone else answered what it is worth TO THEM. Those might not be the same thing.

Could you work through an answer to @airplanenut 's question?

    • What is this worth to you now, raw?
    • How much will it cost you to get it graded?
    • What grade do you expect it will receive?
    • How much do you think it will be worth if it gets the grade that you expect?

If you don't know how to find some of those answers, that would change the question that you need to ask...

Perfect coin for a 2x2 - nothing beyond. And "HIGH RELIEF" ???

If for some reason it has special meaning to you, maybe, and you should get it away from those staples.

Or, just buy a nice one that’s already graded.

    Slightly above average; 64ish.
    Not worth grading.

If there exists a high relief, then a not high relief must exist.

There are no 1964 high relief and 1964 not high relief coins.

There are only 1964 Kennedy half dollars

Can we see a close-up of this please.

Looks like a very bold strike. Compare it to others, full hair, eagle neck feathers, clean shield, cheek, fields what you're after. And there's some toning. Until you find a better one.....cheers!

Okay thanks winter. I was looking for a DDO.

Always try and take your pictures "directly" over the coin and adjust your light and focus accordingly.

  • WAYNEASWAYNEAS Posts: 7,010 ✭✭✭✭✭

I would not grade it as it does not appear to be a DDO from your pictures.
Silver is silver though. If you are a dealer, sell it. If you are a collector, save it.
