Tyrant Collection US Type Set at ANA

messydeskmessydesk Posts: 20,477 ✭✭✭✭✭

Just got an e-mail saying that a $100 million collection of US type coins, including the King of Siam proof set, will be on display at the ANA show. I'm going to have to schedule a chunk of time just to take that in.

Sure would be cool to see but unfortunately I can’t make it there.

this would make a good heist movie with Stallone playing Tyrant covered in mud and slitting throats to get his coins back

Glad to hear they're getting off the West Coast and letting the Eastern Half of the country take a look at it. Already booked my flight and hotel room for the show and will have to make sure I check it out.

The Tyrant Collection of ancient(?) gold coin is the most impressive collection that I have ever personally seen. It's beyond belief. It's a wonder. I was so fortunate to get a one on one guided tour of the collection by a most gracious, knowledgeable, patient, and BEAUTIFUL young lady. Viewing time was not a factor. I came away not sure which was more fabulous....... her or the collection. I give her the honor. What a doll!

For how slow Tyrant's website is, it might finish loading just as the ANA begins.

(That said, his collection is incredible and I'm excited for the Type Set display!)

Wow... tempting. A few hundred bucks for airfare and hotel. Hmmm. Maybe.

I'll be there! One of my parents took a day off of work to they could take me to the show on a week day so there are more dealers unlike my past visit on a Saturday. I cant wait!

I thought so at the time. Maybe a daughter? But I didn't ask. What a lovely young lady!

Very high praise coming from @FredWeinberg... That alone should make the viewing of such a collection a must for all who can attend. Cheers, RickO

Oh, come on, RickO, it's an easy two hour direct flight from Albany to Chicago and all the Convention Center-area hotels have free shuttle service from O'Hare. Besides, it's August, so you shouldn't have to worry about snow in either Albany or Chicago (hopefully).
