Hi guys. Yes, another Special Memorial Day is upon us soon. I know the VDAY anniversary date was last year but in Honor for all the veterans. Please Post two coins in your inventory, in the same denomination. That is at least, 75 years apart.

Not happy in my town. The jerk council cancelled the Memorial Day Parade because of covid you know......
I had it out with the town manager when this happened last year. I'll be calling again but it's too late probably.

My birthplace is Hawaii. I grew-up on the islands of Oahu and the "Big Island". My high school on Oahu overlooked the US naval base Pearl Harbor. I watched the US Pacific Fleet ships and aircraft carriers enter and leave.
The December 7, 1941 military attack at US naval base Pearl Harbor by the Empire of Japan was a tragedy that formed the legacy of American heroism. I researched and identified the first numismatic medals that depicted this attack. These medals were issued 69 days (February 14, 1942) after the attack.
Have you visited the Pearl Harbor Memorial?
My set at the link below honors the men and women of The Greatest Generation who fought, supported, and/or died in the United States war efforts of World War II.
My set has a video of that discusses the attack and links to the periodicals that advertised these "coins" to those on the home front or to those who will enlist.

Still the highest % died of all the wars we've been in, and the origin of Memorial Day.
Don't have any coins from him, but the family does have his sword and 1863 diary.
Most days they were travelling the back woods of Arkansas and Missouri, foraging for food for his horse.13 -

Just realized this year is the 75th anniversary of the Roosevelt Dime. Longest unchanged design (ignoring minor modifications) of all US coinage. Sigh.

The Liberty head quarter eagle went unchanged from 1840 to 1907 which is the current record.

Well I don't have time to take pics of coins but when I saw this picture it hit me pretty hard. I just though it should be seen......My daughter is married to a Marine and we pray for him to be safe everyday. 4 tours overseas now at least home in NC for the present.
