My newp 1865-S PCGS AU-50 5.00 Ex. Del Hansen/Harry Bass

This is my second gold coin. There are 66 in all grades in PCGS with 14 finer. There are only two Mint State coins at PCGS. The 1865-S has the second lowest average grade of all Liberty 5.00, per PCGS coin facts.
I was drawn by the color, the lack of abrasions and the pedigree.

Very nice old gold.... I like the $5 coins in gold, especially the Indians... Heck, I just like gold coins...

wowza.
It is great the way the Bass Collection was preserved on the label. I think it is a plus for the coin.

Thank you to everyone for looking and for comments!
About as original as you can get. Nothing not to like, and I love the pedigree.
Dave
nice coin.
I know I should give "S" mint coins more props, and a coin like that certainly deserves it. Well done.
Yea, that’s a nice coin.
WOW! Very nice...

Thank you to everyone for looking and for their thoughts!
Very nice!
With what I'd call 55 details, I think the coin was net graded for having a mild cleaning under the toning.
That being said, I have a respect bordering on reverence for the date and no disagreement on the coin's obvious virtues.
ColonelJessup pretty much nailed what I thought from the slab photo. On the other hand, I have always thought DLRC's photos are a bit "cartoony" so it is a guess on my part. It's just that details and presumed luster at first blush look >50.
That is a ridiculously difficult date in AU or better. Enjoy owning such a piece of history and thank you for sharing.

Stunning example.
I like it for all of the same reasons that the OP stated.
GREAT pickup of a very SCARCE piece of Civil War GOLD!!
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍
