Just picked this up for my type set (a tad under greysheet) and figured it might be a bit more challenging for a GTG. Let me know what you think! Thanks!

Au55 nice, NGC might have 58ed it. NGC can be a bit funny with circulated seated type. PCGS could go as low as 53 if there is little to no mint bloom or luster apparent but it looks classic 55 to these eyes

The detail to me says 58 but the surfaces and luster make me go with 55.
With the toning, probably would need it inhand to make a valid judgement, but as it is I would guess 58.

If I am reading the luster right, should be a 55, but a 58 grade is certainly possible.

Not a series I claim to have any expertise, but I was thinking 53 to 55.

My first thought without reading the other comments was detailed harshly cleaned. That obv color doesn't look right to me but what do I know, I'm not an expert.
If you said you just picked this coin up for your type set, then I'm thinking you probably bought a straight graded coin.
Still a nice looking coin. The rev strike looks much better then the obv strike.
I'm stuck at 62. I really like it.

Au ish looks to have been dipped, or cleaned which should be expected in most seated coins. Imho.

And here she is! Not surprised that most said AU58, but a few nailed it (@relicsncoins , @Walkerfan, @mannie gray, @retirednow) I thought she was an over graded 58 myself, but I really wanted her because I loved the overall look. She is covered with tiny hits and scratches, and shows a little bit of the old "cabinet friction". While the luster is impaired in places, I can see no evidence of circulation. So I would agree with the grade. I am guessing this old gal spent many years in some very active coin cabinets.

Here is that 1858 I was talking about. Looks pretty similar to yours. It's in PCGS plastic graded 62.
Late to the game... However, my first impression was 62.... then I read the following opinions and started to doubt my guess.... well, gut feel was right this time.

Can someone explain the color difference? My initial guess was detailed. Obviously, the OP's coin is straight graded and/or market acceptable. Or is the picture color washed out?

@relicsncoins Yours certainly does have a similar look, I love it!
I am guessing it is just a more subtle toning. Maybe it never spent time in an album. Or perhaps it was always kept in a more protected environment. Could be an old cleaning and retone? Not sure.
My 58 isn't a dark as the photos would suggest. My lighting wasn't right. It has light pastel toning.
