Do all the coins in this 1955 mint set look original? Does it look like any coins were switched out from the original set? Sorry for the crappy pictures. I’m terrible at taking clear pictures.

It appears original to me. A big 'tell' is how the cardboard around the coins is not bent or shows any creases. Neat looking set yet no real stars as far as toning.
Agree with @braddick but also a question or observation-was it damaged by moisture, probably long ago?

Not only do they look "crappy", but there are several COINS MISSING!!!
If this a young or beginning collector, we need to set his mind at ease. The 1955 half dollars were only minted in Philadelphia, and the San Francisco Mint only made cents and dimes before it closed until the mid 1960s. Therefore there are infilled holes in the 1955 mint set.
As for coins, it does look like the set got wet at some point. The coins appear to be okay, but I don’t see any “stars” that should removed for high grade slabbing purposes.
What's the oldest mint set you can get on eBay?

Nice to still have that original shipping envelope.
The series, with the cardboard holders, started in 1947. I knew a dealer who specialized in modern coins who had a set that was earlier than that, which was custom ordered in a Philadelphia mint envelope. I think that it was a 1944, but I can't remember for sure.
