  When I was dealer, I used to order 10 sets. I had a couple of them come through with a finger print on the dime. It was like they used their bare thumb to push the coin in the hole.

  Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

  Fortunately or unfortunately, I don't think some of the fingerprints on mint sets, proof set or even slabbed coins, start to appear to the naked eye until years later. ...and then it's to late.
