Cool Morgan NEWPS!

A friend of mine that has a shop got a group of 90 slabbed Morgans a few days ago. All from a 1989 submission to PCGS!
He wanted to keep a few obviously, but I got two pretty nice examples for my collection.
This one, I offered over sheet for considering the color, which I find superb:
Another angle showing the light a little differently:
The other, @ricko approved, is a date I like, it’s a slightly better date, the first Morgan from New Orleans…
Usually MS63 doesn’t excite me that much, too baggy usually but I found this one really nice for the grade!
He let me have the 79-O below sheet which was nice. They were $200 each. I feel like this was a solid buy!

@asheland ... Nice '79O Morgan..... Cheers, RickO
goodness. that first one appears highly under-graded from the images, plus it has that gr8 color.
maybe cac will put 2 gold stickers on it? or enjoy it as-is in that really old holder.

For sure. Either your friend really gave you the friendly friend’s friend price there .... or he doesn’t know what it’s really worth. I’ll guess it’s the former. ⭐️
Wow nice newps and a good deal to boot! I like the clashing on the '86. It also does look quite clean for a 65.

Looks like you did pretty good even before adding in any color.
It’s nice to have good friends.

I'd pay $400 for that reverse toner so yeah you made out really well.

Definitely neat coins, and I love how the original PCGS slabs are also pristine.

They were all literally new. In the green boxes, even the 1989 submission papers were still in there!
Really cool stuff to look through.

The 1886 looks like a worthy submission for #tonertuesday on Instagram! Well done on both coins.

The 79-O is a date I've always liked, and for a 63, it has a nice look, it holds the bag marks pretty well. Besides, in 65, that date is like 2 grand!
I'm happy with that coin as well...

Just for a bit of fun, there were two toners in this group, both 1886-P and both in 65. They were sequential serial numbers on the slabs. My friend kept the obverse toner and let me get the reverse toner which I liked better anyway
I took a picture of them together. I’m assuming they were found in an original roll in the 80’s and possibly from the same Mint bag….
