MS62 or 63.

looks as good as most 63s that I've seen.
Try as I might; I'm not seeing any rub.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

62
The bright surfaces & dark splotchy toning makes me think the coin used to have more toning at one time.
What happened to the left hand part of the plane liberty is walking on? I’ve seen weakness there in the center but never on the left side like that.
I think it had dark toning that was dipped off. I think it will grade AU something.
62
Here are the other two mints from 1918 to accompany it. Not a bad set overall.
I think 62, but walker grades have been on the generous side lately, from my limited data, so a 63 wouldn't surprise me. But I don't think it would command strong 63 money in the marketplace.
I thought it was MS-61 then AU-58 back to MS-61 then 62 then dipped AU-58. Not sure as the picture makes it hard to pin down the grade.

I should say not!
Is this from a 1918 year set, or a full set of walkers in comparable grade?
Just these three from 1918
Nice old WLH... a bit grungy, looks like the remains after a dip... I would say 62... Cheers, RickO
Low mintstate. I'd leave it alone.

looks like an unappealing, dipped AU to me.
Results are in although I have not received the coins back yet.
The OP 1918-D is MS63
Shown in a later post in this thread:
The 1918-S is a 58
The 1918 is a 62
Good for you!
The most expensive coin got the highest grade.
Very pleased for sure! You were also dead on!
Nice grades! Congrats!!

Very good grades.
Perhaps they needed to be dipped.
Might have graded a notch higher.

Your 1918-D just went up in value! The top graded one in MS-66 just auctioned for $340,750.
I thought 58 at first... maybe a shot at MS...
